As you can see, there’s a fair bit of work left to do. It’s taking longer than I want, and this is just the vectoring phase; I still have to arrange and tweak the lettering for the cover graphic to get it just so. I’d show you the sketches I’ve done, but I’m not convinced the one I’ve got that sort of puts it all together really demonstrates the idea effectively. Well, here, go ahead and look:
Now, in my books, that needs a lot of work. There are other, nicer sketches of the dragon, but the layout is the key here, and I still haven’t got the new version sorted out. So I’m gonna vector the letters to resemble castle battlements, and then print it out on drawing paper in non-repro blue and draw over that to get the details I’m hoping will help Mavinga do his much better version. I’ve been keeping him waiting for over a week, so I’m hoping to get the lettering issues sorted out tomorrow and get the drawings done for the end of the week. With any luck, I’ll still be able to fit in his busy schedule. Otherwise, it’s back to the drawing table to finish my version and hope it doesn’t suck.
Anyway, that’s all the news that blah blah blah. I’ll try to have something cool for you for tomorrow.
